Pregnancy is a special time in your life, filled with the exciting anticipation of meeting your baby and becoming a parent. Although towards the end you may feel like you’ve been pregnant forever, in reality this is one of the most fleeting stages of your life, and one that is really worth capturing. After all, growing a brand new tiny human is a truly amazing thing to do!
Much like my other types of shoot, I offer a choice of having your pregnancy photoshoot in the studio, in your home, or in a beautiful outdoor location. You can choose to wear your own clothes, or one of my small selection of maternity gowns – it’s just up to you and what suits you best.
Of course, your partner, your baby’s future siblings and even your pets* are welcome to join you for your shoot, and share in the excitement of waiting for your new baby.

My maternity shoots are only available as an add-on to a newborn session, or as part of a Milestones Package.
They’re a really relaxed experience and a lovely way to get to know eachother a bit before your newborn shoot.

When is the best time for a maternity photoshoot?
Ideally, your maternity photoshoot should take place when you have a lovely baby bump, but aren’t yet too uncomfortable as birth approaches. For many mums-to-be, this is around the 30-34 week mark. However, I’ve done last-minute maternity shoots at 39 weeks before, so as long as you’ve not gone into labour it’s not too late!
When should I book my pregnancy photoshoot?
For the maternity add-on package, your maternity shoot must be booked alongside your newborn shoot. Therefore any time after your 20 week scan is perfect.
What should I wear for my maternity photoshoot?
Many of my clients are unsure of what to wear for their maternity photoshoot.
You can choose from my selection of gowns or your own clothes.
If you wear your own clothes, it’s best to choose something simple, that will hug your bump at the top – floaty maternity dresses in the warmer months or some lovely knitwear in winter is perfect.
Most importantly though, it should be something you feel good in and want to show off your bump!
I also recommend sticking with muted or pastel tones and colours, and avoiding loud prints or logos that can be distracting in your images.
Do you provide gowns for maternity photoshoots?
I have a small selection of gowns and drapy fabrics we can use during your shoot. If you are interested in this option and would like to see the gowns before booking please just get in touch!
Can my partner take part in my maternity shoot?
Of course! My maternity shoots are a celebration of your whole family’s excitment for your new baby’s arrival. Everyone is welcome.
What about pets? Can they be included?
I’m afraid I don’t allow pets in the studio – it’s exclusively for babies and their families. As a pet owner though I do understand what important family members they are, so if you’d like a shoot to include your pet we can go on location or to your home.
Where is your studio?
The studio is located at Southowram, which is conveniently located a short drive from both Halifax and Brighouse town centres, and easily accessed from Junctions 24, 25 or 26 of the M62. Full directions will be provided upon booking.
I only want a maternity shoot and not a newborn session - is this possible?
My maternity add-on package offers the best value for your pregnancy photographs, and as such is only available when booked with a newborn shoot.
If you would like a stand-alone maternity shoot then this is possible and would be priced the same as my family shoots. Simply email me for more details.
What does maternity photography cost?
My maternity package is a digital package and ranges from £150-£250 dependent on the number of images you’d like to keep.
Can I view your prices before I commit to booking?
