Maybe you love the idea of capturing some beautiful images of your newborn, but don’t want a posed studio shoot. Maybe you already have children you feel would be more comfortable in their own space, or even pets you’d like to include. Maybe you’re just not sure if you’ll make it far from your front door in those early days (I know I didn’t!) and would rather stay cosy at home.
Whatever your reason for choosing a home lifestyle newborn shoot, your session will be really relaxed and enjoyable, and I’ll capture this unique chapter in your life beautifully. It’s just me and my camera, no bulky equipment or props, and I use only natural light for these sessions.
SUITABLE FOR BABIES OF ANY AGE
My in-home baby photoshoots are suitable for babies of any age from newborn onwards, so don’t worry if your little one is more than a few weeks old. These shoots are really natural and I don’t pose your baby in the same way as I would in the studio, so there’s no need for them to be still all curled up and in a deep sleep. Though of course, it’s absolutely fine if they are – like my studio shoots, the session is totally baby-led and I’ll follow their cues.

Sessions are secured with a £55 deposit, which is deducted from your chosen package balance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best time for a home newborn or baby photoshoot?
A home newborn or baby photoshoot can take place at any age. As they’re really natural in style, there’s no need for your baby to still be all curled up or fast asleep for posed shots. Though of course if they are sleepy and brand new that is absoloutley fine! There are some ages I’d recommend more than others – if you’re unsure as to when you’d like to have your shoot I’m more than happy to chat through it with you and help you decide the best option for you.
When should I book my home newborn or baby photoshoot?
Just like my studio shoots, it’s best to get booked in well before your baby is born, ideally just after your 20 week scan – especially if you’d like your shoot during the first two weeks of their life.
Again, for home newborn shoots we’ll pencil in a date based on your due date which can be confirmed or amended when your baby is born – therefore there’s no need to worry if they arrive early, late or right on time.
My baby has already arrived - is it too late to book?
As my home newborn & baby photoshoots can take place at any age, it’s never too late to book in. Depending on the age of your baby at the time you enquire, I might recommend waiting a little while – for example if they’re 5-6 weeks old, it can be nice to wait a few weeks until they’re more like 8-10 weeks, as by then they’ll be interacting much more with the world around them, and we might even get some smiles during the shoot. Of course though, when you have the shoot is totally up to you as long as my availability allows.
Can we have family, sibling or parent shots during our home newborn shoot?
Of course! My home newborn shoots not only capture beautiful images of your baby, but also the connections and love you all share – they’re ideal for young siblings too who can be happy in their own space and come and go as they please during the shoot.
What about pets? Can they be included?
Of course – I’m an animal lover myself and know what important members of the family our pets are. As long as they’re happy to be involved, then I’d love to include them in the shoot.
How far are you willing to travel?
I’m based just outside of Halifax and am happy to travel all over Yorkshire and beyond. My packages include travel within 15 miles of my home address, and I charge a small mileage fee for anywhere on top of this. Simply contact me with your address for an accurate cost.
What does home newborn and baby photography cost?
My home shoots are digital packages and are priced based on the length of shoot. The packages range from £245 to £395, with an option to add printed products with a discount on list price upon viewing. For more information, please contact me.
Can I view your prices before I commit to booking?
Is it possible to purchase printed products rather than digital images?
My standard home newborn and baby photography packages are based on digital images, but if you’d prefer printed products I’m very happy to put a bespoke package together for you. I offer a range of beautiful professional products – from loose prints to albums to stunning wall art, so just let me know what you’d like and we will go from there.
